Search and Rescue Drone Technology
The X•SAR Search and Rescue UAV is a long-endurance, highly directional Radio Direction Finder (RDF) system designed for advanced aerial signal scanning and detection during critical rescue missions.
Search and Rescue UAV ─ RDF Technology
Below is the long-endurance X•SAR Search and Rescue UAV, engineered for weather-resistant operation and equipped with an integrated high-capacity battery, multi-band RF antennas, and expandable directional Yagi antennas to deliver exceptionally accurate signal detection and localization in the field.
X•SAR – Advanced Search and Rescue UAV RDF System
The X•SAR Search and Rescue UAV is an advanced long-range RDF (Radio Direction Finder) system designed to help rescue teams quickly and accurately locate missing persons, vehicles, or electronic devices across large areas such as forests, deserts, or offshore regions. This next-generation UAV provides full-spectrum radio detection, rapidly scanning all frequencies while simultaneously identifying Wi-Fi and Bluetooth (BLE) signals using specialized antennas optimized for different bands.
Key Capabilities
1. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Device Detection
The X•SAR UAV can identify and capture Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) device MAC addresses from the air, enabling search teams to locate active personal devices in real time — even in remote or hard-to-reach environments.
2. Radio Direction Finding (RDF)
The system can be expanded with automated signal monitoring and analysis tools, transforming the UAV into a complete Radio Direction Finder. This makes it ideal for professional Search and Rescue UAV operations where pinpoint accuracy is critical.
3. Multi-Antenna Configuration
Equipped with a multi-RF antenna system, the X•SAR supports directional, omnidirectional, and Yagi-extendable antennas, each optimized for specific frequency ranges to maximize signal accuracy and detection range.
Directional Performance
- Integrated highly directional antennas with a 45°–70° detection angle for precise signal targeting.
- Expandable with horizontal Yagi antennas for long-range, horizon-level operations.
- Expandable with vertical Yagi antennas for accurate ground scanning from the air.
Long Range Robust Design
► The X•SAR Search and Rescue UAV features a robust and durable form factor, measuring approximately 18 cm (W) × 25 cm (L) × 9 cm (H) and weighing around 900 grams — only slightly larger than the compact version.
Despite its size, it delivers powerful performance in all-weather rescue missions, offering portability without compromising capability.
Search and Rescue Drone Operations
In comparison to the ruggedized compact Search and Rescue Drone system, the X•SAR Full-Range Radio Detection Finder offers enhanced capabilities for Search and Rescue UAV operations. Similar to the other X•SAR models listed at the SAR Drone page, it allows larger UAV’s to scan the entire frequency spectrum at high speed, while simultaneously detecting Wi-Fi and Bluetooth (BLE) signals for comprehensive situational awareness. Equipped with directional antennas, the system provides a 50°–90° detection angle, ensuring wide coverage and signal localization during aerial missions.
